BIO

Touhin Hasan is a Bangladesh based visual artist and illustrator with a vision to connect beyond boundaries through art and currently residing in Dhaka. Touhin obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2007. He is the winner of the 9th Berger Young Painters’ Art Award 2004 and the 5th Artist Rashed Memorial Award 2006.
Over the years he has developed intricate knowledge, connection, and passion for rendering a sense of mystery and magic as well as capturing the darkness of the human mind through his nightscapes. Haunting and psychological in nature, Touhin’s paintings portray the unrest of the human psyche. The treatment of owl and moon are very symbolic and is a unique feature in most of his paintings.
It is the subtle blend of intention and intuition, scepticism and surrealism that brings depth and mystery to his paintings, suggesting life beyond the canvas. Portrayal of strong feminine energy is another consistent theme of his works. An enforced sense of masculine energy is nothing matched to the ecstasy, empowerment, and graceful magnetism that are set on loose when a woman actuates her feminine essence. Touhin exhibits this undoubtedly well on the canvas.
Touhin showcased his works both nationally and internationally in numerous prestigious art galleries. His first solo exhibition ‘The Other Moon’ took place in Alliance Française de Dhaka in 2010 which attracted art connoisseurs from various parts of the country.
